Mini album box

I'm sending this album in answer to a challenge issued on my Facebook page calling for someone to make something home-made in exchange for the same. But I thought it needed a proper box to store it in. I hope she likes it. Do you think she'll guess that it's made from a cereal box? Let's just keep that under wraps for now!

This is a box pattern from Laura Dennison. She used a Graphic 45 paper collection and it was so darn cute! But I have to use up some things from my stash or I won't have even a corner left to work from....I know, poor me, right? So I used a variety of paper I got a few years back at a Scrapbook Convention. It's a School collection from a company called Diane's Daughters and I like the way it turned out. But check out her Crayon Box using Graphic 45's new release called ABC Primer. So darn cute.

From My Garden Mini album

This is my version of the mini designed by Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomena. http://www.paperphenomenon.blogspot.com/   She's so talented. I changed  the sizing and the way the easel part opens up. The paper collection is called Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket. It's so cheerful! And I bought all the supplies for this at The Front Desk in Newport, Vermont. Lots of spots for recipes and the flip part can be used to put in those pictures of your vegetable gardens! I know you have some!

I like the way this leans back when it's open so you can see the recipes easier.

Maple syrup sap bucket as a wedding card holder...

 Erin said she wanted something different for her outdoor wedding in September....and gave me carte blanche to do anything I wanted; to be creative. Her colors are brown and orange.  I had an antique (1901) sap bucket lid and borrowed the bucket for the occasion. (We'll give it back, Roger, I promise.) Then just glimmer misted some dried flowers mixed with some silks and a pretty pull knob from the Tim Holtz stash and a little bit of  hot glue. I sure hope she likes it. When the wedding is over she can release the top from the bucket (and return the bucket with a big thank you to ROGER) and hang the lid as a wall decoration if she wants. Congratulations on your wedding, Erin!!

Recycled Aluminum Cans Photo Frame

I got this idea from a similar project seen on a Youtube vido. I haven't been able to locate the video again. I added some embossing and some alchohol ink to my project. If I run into that video again I'll post it on this project. This is made using recycled aluminum cans and an unpainted wooden frame purchased from Michaels.  How cool is that?

Cut your favorite graphics from soda/drink cans. Nip the top rim with a pair of wire cutters. Then just cut your pieces out using Tim Holtz Scissors. Those scissors are so slick, they cut the aluminum "just like buttah". Put the pieces in your embossing folders, if you like. I used the Cuttlebug and one B plate with about 5 pieces of lightweight chipboard. (Two B plates were too thick and made little cuts into the aluminum.) Hot glue the pieces onto a wooden frame...I painted mine black first. Then as an option you can use tiny tacks/nails in the corners of the pieces for an added touch. (My hubby did that part for me. He also offered to drink some beer if I would like to make one using beer cans. He's so nice.) Now I need a nice photo to put into my new frame~

 I learned the 3 ring binder technique by watching Laura at Follow the Paper Trail.

The three rings come through the spine of the book to allow for ribbons and bling.

Ephemera Charm Necklace

Made using Cathe Holden's free ephemera downloads from www.justsomethingimade.com and printed on Shrinky Dink sheets for inkjet printers following the manufacturers direction. Cut out the charms. Just punch an 1/8" hole in the top of the charm, bake them in an oven at 300-325 degrees for about 5 minutes on a piece of brown paper bag. They contort while backing and then settle back down as they shrink. When they lay flat again you know they're done. They shrink to 1/3 of their original side. Place a book or other weight on them for about 30 seconds while they're cooling to help them stay flat. Add the O rings and they're ready for your use on necklaces, keychains, or scrapbook project. Fun, fun, fun!!

Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime mini album

What could be prettier than flowers and fairies? Lots of little inserts in this mini, photo mats and journaling spots. The graphics are so well done that it nearly puts itself together. Try it!! It's fun. I got the paper pack and tons of supplies at The Front Desk

License Plate mini album

 Front Cover is a license plate punched with my Cinch machine. Easy Peezy!
